Compostable Packaging

We’re now packing gear that guests order online for onboard delivery in compostable packaging. The new packages are waterproof, strong and will decompose in a home compost in three to six months. The bag also has two seals to facilitate re-use.

Biosecurity Efforts

By reducing the number of velcro fastenings (especially on the ankles of waterproof trousers), removing mesh from backpacks, and switching to a boot with a larger open tread, we believe that the inherent risk of transporting seeds, soil and other biosecurity risk material, is greatly reduced. This is good news for South Georgia and beyond!
