About Ushuaia

What to Expect

Visitors will find opportunities not to be missed including fine cuisine, shopping for handicrafts, sites of historic interest, interesting museums and a wide range of activities and excursions for those interested in the region's natural and cultural history. The surrounding countryside is popular for those who enjoy partaking in active activities such as hiking, fishing, mountain biking and even golf at the world's southernmost 9-hole course!

Antarctic travelers don't always have time to take advantage of all that the city has to offer but we hope our inside information on dining, shopping and sightseeing helps you get the most out of the city and its surroundings during the time that you have in your itinerary.

Electrical

Electrical current in Argentina is 220 volts/50 hertz. Some appliances can work on 110-volts or 220-volts, such as cell phones, laptop computers and cameras, however you will most likely still need a socket adaptor (as noted below). Other small appliances may need a voltage converter and also a socket adaptor. Check with your cruise line to see what electrical current and adaptor plug outlets will be found aboard your ship as this may also be different from that used at home (or when traveling in Argentina).
